CPL Draft Date, Time & venue
CPL draft will take place on the 15th of July 2025, as assumed. Although there might be a change in plans by CPL management, until then, the draft will take place on 15th July 2025.
CPL 2025 draft Schedule
CPL draft completes in just 1 day. As all teams have pre planned their picks so it only takes a few hours to complete round picks of all the teams. Once the pick rounds are completed, we have finalized squad of each team ready at the end of draft day.
How do CPL drafts take place?
1. First of all, teams share their retention players list. It is the list of players that every team will not be releasing; and they are retaining them. There is no limit to the number of retentions of players in CPL. Any team can retain as many players as they want.
2. Now, a list of new signed-up players and released players is made. This list contains players released by franchises and new players who signed up for CPL in different categories.
3. Now teams are invited to pick players in different categories (i.e., Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging) according to their pick order. The pick order is also released before the draft.
4. At the end, supplementary players are picked. Supplementary players are those who are replacements if any picked players get injured during the league.
