St Lucia Kings beat Antigua and Barbuda Falcons by three wickets in a rain-truncated CPL 2026 contest at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet on August 14, with Matthew Forde’s all-round performance proving decisive in a match settled by the DLS method.
Put in to bat, the Falcons were restricted to 98 for 9 in their 19 overs after rain interrupted play, with Alzarri Joseph top-scoring with 16 and Jayden Seales taking three wickets for the Kings. Forde also struck early with the ball, finishing with figures of 4 for 29.
Rain returned during the interval and reduced the Kings’ target to 52 off eight overs. The chase turned into a rollercoaster as the hosts slumped to 33 for 7, with Shamar Springer taking three wickets and Joshua James picking up two for the Falcons. Kings held their nerve from there, eventually getting home at 54 for 7 with two balls to spare.
Forde, who made 11 off 7 balls in addition to his four wickets, was named Player of the Match. Speaking after the game, he said the win mattered more to him than his personal figures, adding that he had put in extra bowling work before the match and was pleased to get the ball “in the right areas” early on to put the Falcons under pressure in the powerplay.
The result was St Lucia Kings‘ second win over Antigua and Barbuda Falcons this CPL 2026 season. The two sides had already met on August 10 at Arnos Vale, where the Kings won by four runs in a match Forde also helped close out with a tight final over. Kings have now started the tournament with back-to-back wins, while the Falcons remain winless after two matches.
